Our first day in PEI… was spent in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Prior to that, I went for a brisk morning walk.

My parents needed to do some shopping, so we went to Costco and Bass Pro Shops, which all was quite an adventure with traffic and construction. By the time we came back, it was supper time, so we were looking for some Maritime fare, and came across a decent diner in O’Leary, a tidy little town only 20 minutes away from Northport. One wonderfully friendly lady was running the whole restaurant (including the takeout side, and maybe even the kitchen) simply named G&E. Thinking about fish and chips, I ended up ordering the Scallop Burger, which featured 4 breaded and fried scallops on a burger bun, dressed however I wanted. I chose lettuce and tartar sauce, figuring that would do. Now bear in mind, I do not enjoy ocean bugs despite my Maritime heritage, so I was really going out on a limb here. But I always say, “When in Rome, eat bugs.”

Ocean bug sandwich!

It was actually pretty tasty. Also, finally a food pic!

After supper, wifey and I decided we needed to imbibe, so we made our way to the Alberton Alcool store for some spirits. I was focused on finding specifically PEI made stuff.

Inspired by the colliding tides of the North and East points… it was uninspired.

Equally uninspiring.

Tastes just like maple syrup, this stuff could be dangerous…

At 50%, this was enough to curl the hair on my head, and make my eyes straight again.

And it was off to bed for us, we had a long day of traversing the eastern edge in the morning ahead of us.

Stay tuned, and thanks for reading!
