Langille Adventure July 15th, 2019

After some quick goodbyes, we hunkered down for the boring part of the drive, the road to Fredericton, New Brunswick.

I use the term boring loosely, as it is an absolutely gorgeous drive, but the Quebeçois deny the rolling vistas any vantage points or pullovers for some of the most scenic parts of the Appalachians and Canadian Shield. In the west, there are numerous pullovers to enjoy the views and the landscapes, but the most scenic of the Quebec landscape are relegated to narrow shoulders on the side of the road.

As a driver, I get to indulge in the scenery, but I miss out on the photography. My wife managed to snap a few pics though.

Photos will never do landscapes justice.

Ew, feet.

Not sure which landscape she was trying to get here.

At some point in the travel, we managed to come across the Mighty St. Lawrence River, splitting the rolling mountains with greenery and wide mouthed basins.

Looking for a vantage point, we found le Maison touristique regionale du Bas-Saint-Laurent. An information centre telling about the natural history of the area of La Pocatière.

After taking in the site and the wonder of the massive seaway, we took to the roads again, eager to relax in our stop for the night.

After a short hour or two, we broke the laws of time, and traveled one hour into the future.

We decided to take a nostalgic stop on the way at Grand Falls, NB.

Not quite as exciting with the dam closed. It looked much better back in 2014 when we traveled in October.

After a short jaunt and some gas, we rolled into Fredericton, took note of the Giant Tiger, nearly killed 3 kids while trying to park at the hotel, and settled into the room at the Days Inn. Staff were super friendly, pools were nice, and the hotel was okay.

We decided to go out for a late supper at an interesting restaurant called Stuft.

As a food blogger, I failed. No food pictures.

The food was great, and the service was slow. That being said, our server was super friendly and apologized for the inconvenience and gave us a discount on our bill without us even complaining. So, if you want an amazing pulled-pork poutine, this is a great place to try out! Stuft!

Afterwards a tour of the local Sobey’s grocery store for something uniquely New Brunswick-y only turned up some booze.

Uniquely disappointing.

We rolled into bed, and rested for in prep for day three.

We wanna go to New York after we are done in the maritime… Wanna help? Go Fund Us!
